Fresh Green Beans with Lemon Basil Butter Sauce

Go to my review blog, Cheat Day News and Reviews to guess what I am going to review from CSN stores.

Yes, these are beans from our garden! Yay!!!!!!! This is the third year that we have tried our hand at gardening. The first was too small and over run by wandering cucumbers. The second was ravaged by bunnies and this third one we have learned from our past mistakes. It is actually growing! Like, edible stuff!

This butter sauce is delicious over fresh green beans. Even the kids loved this!

Lemon Basil Butter Sauce

1 lb. fresh green beans, trimmed
1/4 butter, cubed
1 Tbsp. olive oil
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. basil
1/2 tsp. lemon juice
1/4 tsp. grated lemon peel

Place the beans in a steamer basket over a large saucepan with 1 inch of water. Bring to a boil: cover and steam for 8-10 minutes or until crisp-tender.

In a small saucepan, heat the remaining ingredients until butter is melted. Transfer beans to a serving bowl: drizzle with butter mixture and toss to coat.
