Here is a great Baked Bean recipe for your upcoming 4th of July cookout. I got this recipe from my sister. I love to be able to layer this all in a Crock Pot and forget about them! I assembled these the night before and kept it in the fridge until I was ready to turn on the Crock Pot. This is a keeper!
Crock Pot Beans
1 onion- chopped
1 lb hamburger
1 lb bacon- cooked and crumbled
Cook hamburger and onion in bacon drippings. Crumble bacon and set aside.
Layer in 5 quart Crock Pot:
Hamburger and onion
5 (11 oz.) cans of Pork and Beans
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 brown sugar
3 T. rice vinegar
1 T. liquid smoke
1 can black beans- rinsed and drained
1 can kidney beans- rinsed and drained
1 c. ketchup
1 more can (11 oz.) Pork and Beans
Cook on low for 9 hours. Stir after 3 hours. Stir in bacon before serving.

ReplyDeleteI just found your blog and it's so funny because for a couple years now my mom and I have had the same philosophy as you- eat healthy during the week and then one day during the weekend we can splurge! I think it honestly works great! So therefore I am really excited to read your blog- thanks!!
ReplyDeleteI have to make these for my Dad - he would love them! Especially with all that bacon!
ReplyDeleteCrock pots are the best! Even if I got 3 of them for my wedding.
